Fall is finally here!
Well, Fall is finally here after an extended summer. That must be why Michigan got owned at home in two consecutive weeks to start this season...we just aren't used to playing in warm weather! When it is below 90 we kick ass and take names, but not in September of 2007!!! This week has been a bit different though. Today is the best weather day of the week only because the sun has been out all day and this is in spite of it being windy as hell. I see that there is a chance for rain during the Michigan-Minnesota game Saturday, which coupled with temperatures in the 40's or 50's should make for a sloppy weather game with lots of Gopher turnovers and 14th string Michigan players finally getting some game action. I heard a rumor that Coach Carr is going to put in a special request to the NCAA competition committee to allow him to play kids from Slauson Middle School just to make Minnesota see what it feels like to get beaten by a team that has no business beating, oh wait thats right, Minnesota already lost to North Dakota State. At home. I know this is probably not a popular thought, but I would rather lose to 2 time defending I-AA Appalachian St. at the Big House than ever lose to North Dakota State. At anything. Is North Dakota really big enough to have more than one university? I knew that North Dakota had a pretty good college hockey team and that everyone there is a Vikings and Twins fan, but jesus christ that is about as interesting as that place could possible get. I'll admit that Michigan losing to App. St. was monumental, but Minnesota losing to North Dakota State is more embarrassing, and to go a step further, Stanford beating USC in LA is the biggest upset in recent memory. Yes, thats right, Stanford beating USC is much more shocking than Michigan getting punked by App. St. and it is definitely more embarrassing than Minnesota getting bitch slapped by North Dakota State. Why? Because USC was supposed to be the best team ever and Minnesota has sucked longer than Dirt Devil.
Props to Joe Mach for pointing out that Sean Griffen was the Michigan player that did his job perfectly and pounced on an Illini mistake. Joe is tooting the CC horn because that is where he was raised and played, so I will let that slide. Not just because of that, but because CC has earned the right to stand tall. They are one of the best high school programs around and the fact that they should be be a bigger pipeline to Ann Arbor is the only thing that they need to work on.
I heard on the radio today that 3 players that hail from Florida and are current Sparty players have officially been charged with unarmed robbery charges. Is this really a shock? A school in the middle of farmland in Michigan has troubles with felons? This isn't the first time and it damn sure won't be the last, no matter what Mark Dantonio says or does. The fact is, East Lansing is a crappy place, no matter what you are there for or what you are studying. The perfect metaphor for The Michigan Agricultural College is "you can take the kid out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of the kid." I know, I know, this isn't the most politically correct statement, but when you, as an institution for higher learning, bring in kids that have sketchy pasts and behavior, what can you expect? Now, this isn't to say that this has never happened to Michigan, it has and those kids were dismissed immediately, but the fact that MSU is allowing these kids to continue to play and remain on scholarship is the very reason why they are a joke as a university and why they are always the butts of jokes. Come to think of it, this is the exact same thing that OSU is known for. Maurice Clarrett anyone?
I'm not saying that every kid from a bad area is going to be a felon. There are just as many kids from well-off families that do just as stupid things as there are anyone else. But what people need to start doing is to start being accountable for their own actions. Stop blaming everyone else for your indiscretions, own what you have done!

Dude!! You really have issues w/East Lansing dont you? lol...Keep in mind bro, the maze and blue have had their share of 'issues' too-both legal and illegal. Thats not to say im a fan of the puke green and pale white, im just trying to be fair.
